The grid becomes a fabric of memory, transformed by a shared thread and unraveled and rewoven into new forms that spark curiosity and open fresh perspectives. Each artist presented in Grid Memories uses structure, material, and repetition to evoke memory, transform space, and invite curiosity.
Together, the works trace how grids and bricks — often symbols of order and stability — can also be porous, playful, and generative. By reworking the meaning of these forms to carry memory forward, Grid Memories highlights the creation of new visual languages out of familiar structures. The manipulation of materials, e.g. from pulp and pigment to brick, thread, and color, can transform not only the surfaces we see but also the ways we remember, imagine, and engage with space.
