Slideluck
On Saturday, October 4th, Slideluck San Francisco V took place at Heron Arts in SOMA. This show was all about Instagram and mobile photography. From selfies to serious reportage, it would be difficult to find someone who has not used his/her/their cellphone to take a photo. On the fourth birthday of SF-based Instagram, we acknowledged this shift in visual consciousness by devoting a slideshow to a wide-ranging survey of the most interesting photography being produced for their platform today.
Curated by Patrick Witty, Director of Photography at Wired, Slideluck San Francisco V featured some of the most dynamic and well considered uses of the medium. Here's what Witty had to say about this show: "With the advent of mobile photography, there is now a widening circle of eyes to record our environments. This show pays homage to this new omniscience and the patterns that lace together its visual world."
